Year of the Horse

Looking Back, Looking Ahead by eggworks Hello, and Happy New Year from Tokyo.   Until recently, I thought I was born in the Year of the Goat.   Then, while working in Guam, I spent time with two people I’d just met - individuals with a lifetime of experience behind them, calm authority, and a rare clarity about how things actually move in the world.   They told me I had Horse energy - the kind that keeps moving even when the path isn’t clearly marked. They were right.   With 2026 being the Year of the Horse, the timing now feels fitting. 2025 was a hard reset. It stripped things back and clarified what’s worth building - and what isn’t.   東京から、新年おめでとうございます。 長い間、自分は未（ひつじ）年だと思っていました。 でも数年前、グアムで出会った、とても印象深い二人にこう言われました。「あなたは馬のエネルギーだね。道が見えなくても、止まらず進むタイプだ。」肩書きや立場を超えて、言葉に重みのある二人でした。  そのときは、少し不思議な話だなと思っただけでしたが—   2026年が午（うま）年だと知って、妙に腑に落ちています。 2025年は、大きなリセットの年でした。   壊れたものもあれば、役目を終えて静かに消えたものもある。 ノイズが削ぎ落とされ、残ったのはとてもシンプルな感覚でした。 What stayed was simple: the work that matters, the standards worth holding, and the people who sharpen the work rather than dilute it.   I’ve always cared about work that’s built properly - clear ideas, clean structure, and creative decisions that carry weight.   Production that’s tight. Execution that holds up under pressure. Connection that’s human and grounded. The people I build with bring the same standard. Different backgrounds, different disciplines - one shared commitment to the work. As we step into 2026, we’re moving with intent and momentum.   The work is rooted in Tokyo - in the pace, the honesty, and the way this city moves.   We build through story. We solve through clarity.
